Designed to promote understanding of social and cultural diversity through study of such issues and ethnicity, gender, race, socioeconomic status, religion/spirituality, sexual orientation, ability/disability, family structure, and geographic locatio n. Emphasis will be placed on examining how one’s own cultural identity impacts their beliefs, values and actions, and will learn skills for competent ethical practices with diverse populations in the human service community. (3 lec) Prerequisite: HUS 101 (HUMS 101)
