Advanced Cabinetmaking provides a continuation of basic cabinet making offering an extensive presentation of woodworking methods, practices, and styles. This c ourse is inclusive of the skillful use of hand tools, power tools and computer guided equipment. The safe selection, purpose, and associated maintenance of associated equipment will be incorporated. Course emphasis will include the techniques and guidance necessary to produce intricate wood joinery and undertake detail -oriented projects. 15-week course (3 lec, 14 lab) Prerequisite: FWC 201 (FWAC 201) Designed to empower students to achieve success in college and in life by learning highly effective research-based strategies that appeal to various learning preferences and by identifying resources that will help them be successful in college. The course focuses on personal responsibility, self -motivation, self -management, interdependence, self -awareness, lifelong learning, emotional intelligence, and belief in oneself. (2 lab)
