Emphasizes the arithmetic needed for success as an electrician. Topics covered will include; mathematical order of operations with whole numbers, fractions and decimals; percentages, averages, rounding, estimating, and significant digits; measurement of length, area, volume, temperature, and energy; ratios and proportions; units conversions; powers and roots; scientific notation and engineering notation; rearranging of formula like Ohm’s Law and the power formula; and right triangle trigonometry. Hands- on activities related to the electrical trade will be used to emphasize each concept. (3 lec)
