EDSE 140 — Play and Social Skill Development in Special Education Settings 3 Credits
Focuses on benefits of incorporating play -based learning models into special education settings to encourage cognitive and social/emotional development. Play -based learning that is supported by current research and aligns with standards and IEP goals is explored. Skills such as self -management, self-awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making are examined. Accountability for rigor and student outcomes is reinforced. (3 lec.)
