CTE 121 — CTE 121
Provides participants with an understanding of the nature and role of culture and identity and its intersection with teaching and learning in CTE Environments. Participants will develop an awareness of cultural, racial, ethnic, and linguistic identities as well as concepts of equity, diversity, social justice, and inclusion. They will explore their own personal biases and culturally responsive teaching practices in CTE environments. They will focus on approaches to teaching and learning that consider the following: developmental and grade appropriateness; valuing students and the assets they bring to the CTE program; connecting students’ life experiences with what they are learning in the CTE program; and how these approaches raise expectations and make learning relevant for all students.
