Focuses on understanding fundamental disease processes beginning with general concepts of disease and altered cell functioning. Also included are topics on inflammation, infection, neoplastic and fluid, electrolyte and acid -base imbalances. These concepts are applied to the study of disease processes using a systems -oriented approach. (3 lec) Prerequisite: BIO 128 (BIOL 230) with grade of C or higher or BIO 209 (BIOL 128) with a grade of C or higher
