HCE159 — MEDICAL LABORATORY ASSISTING II
This course includes classroom, laboratory, and clinical experience designed to continue the preparation of the student to enter the health profession as a laboratory assistant. Emphasis is on health care reform, reimbursement, cost analysis, coding, credentialing, accreditation, laboratory regulations, and regulatory agencies. It also includes application of pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical principles, infection control, laboratory safety, recognition of acceptable quality control, quality management principles, phlebotomy principles, and water requirements.
