CIS100 — Cyber Safety

This class is designed to educate students on how to secure computing devices in a connected world. It introduces students to essential practices for staying safe in today’s modern world. Topics include recognizing online threats, protecting personal information, creating strong passwords, avoiding scams and malware, practicing responsible online behavior, basic networking, the use of network & software firewalls, operation and use of virus scanners, concerns specific to mobile, sessions, encryption and certificates. Students will learn practical strategies to safeguard their devices, data, and digital identities while developing awareness of common cybersecurity risks, they will encounter in everyday life.
