MUS 228 - Principles of Music Education MUS 228 - Principles of Music Education Hours: 3 An introductory course for prospective music educators that focuses on a minimum 20 hours field experience, lesson and assessment planning, the role of music in the schools, and ethical and legal issues for educators. Students will study current teaching practices of general music, band, orchestra and choirs and develop a personal philosophy of music education.
