SWRK 2020 - Culture and Diversity Add to Personal Catalog SWRK 2020 - Culture and Diversity Sp - Dyersburg/Sp - JNC The focus of the course is a combination of factual information on various populations and specific social work skills to effectively work with different racial and ethnic persons. It also addresses the societal issues with discrimination and prejudice within the operation of society. Oppression of disadvantaged groups is examined on both the micro and macro levels of society. Students are challenged to examine their own personal beliefs, values and biases in regard to others and learn to exhibit competent behaviors as a social worker. 3 hours lecture. Syllabus
