FIRE 2234 — Hazardous Materials Technician 6 Credit Hours
Students will identify and interpret hazardous material incidents. Learned tactics and strategies will be applied to rescue and mitigation procedures. Other topics include the laws regulating training requirements for the Hazardous Materials Technician as set forth by Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). (5 lecture hours, 2 lab hours)
