ART 2253 — Intermediate Jewelry/Metalsmithing: Enameling 3 Credit Hours

An intermediate exploration of jewelry/metalsmithing with a focus on vitreous enameling, a process of fusing powdered glass to metal at high temperatures. Techniques include sifting, champlevé, basse-taille, and cloisonné. Emphasis is placed on technical skills, craftsmanship, and integration of form with concept. Students will further develop their personal aesthetic through the application of color on metal. (6 lab hours)
