SOC 014 — Introduction to Race & Ethnicity Units: 3
Racial and Ethnic Relations focuses on the varieties of racial and ethnic interactions in the United States. The course is concerned with the origins, implications, and consequences of race, ethnicity, prejudice, and discrimination. Although the significance of cultural differentiation is highly important in the course, major emphasis is placed on intergroup interaction. Both minority group reaction to ethnic status and majority group reaction to ethnic action are major components of the course.
