NURS 4326. LEGAL AND ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS IN NURSING (3-0-3). This course for the registered nurse (RN) synthesizes ethical/legal concepts required for examination of sound decision making in clinical practice and legal responsibility. The focus is on value clarification, application of ethical theory, ethical decision-making models, and professional ethical standards. Emphasis is on ethical obligations of professional nurses in their roles as citizens, members of a profession, providers of care, and designers and managers of care. Prerequisites: NURS 3350, NURS 3351, NURS 3301, NURS 3353, NURS 3313, NURS 4355. Co-requisites: NURS 4160. Assessment Levels: R3, E3, M3. 51.3801.
