Students will learn about basic sociological theories and how sociologists conduct studies. Topics include culture, socialization, race, gender, sexuality, family, crime, and social inequalities. Students will also examine how institutions, social movements, and policies impact various social phenomena and individuals. Students will use a sociological perspective to explore their own citizenship and evaluate their ethics of social responsibility.
