Topics covered in this course include (but arenot limited to) how to study, analyze, and discuss literature; how to engage children in reading and to encourage thoughtful and creative responses to literature; how to evaluate the literary and educational merits of a text; how to introduce childreto a variety of cultural and historical perspectives through literature; how to promote the overall joy of reading; and personal reflections on various modern-day concerns with literature.
