MUS 176 — C Popular Songwriting 3 Units

Term hours: 54 lecture. This is an introductory to intermediate course in popular songwriting. Students will learn keyboard skills and notation. They will analyze melody, harmony, song form, rhythm, and lyrics as they apply to popular music. Emphasis will be placed on original compositions and composition by well-known songwriters and recording artists. (UC/CSU)
