HIST 181 — U.S. History: Black Perspectives II
Examination of significant aspects of United States history from the aftermath of the Civil War to the present, including explorations of the U.S. and California constitutions and interactions between federal, state, and local governments. Emphasis is on the socio-economic, political, and cultural experiences of African Americans in the United States from Reconstruction to the present, with a focus on agency, resistance, self-determination, and liberation.
