DIS 1310 — DIS-1310 Interpreting I

Designed to introduce students to the foundational skills and concepts of sign language interpreting. Emphasizes both theoretical and practical approaches, including platform and interview-style interpreting. Students will practice rendering spoken messages into American Sign Language in structured role-play scenarios and explore a variety of basic interpreting contexts. The course also introduces alternative communication systems to broaden understanding of diverse communication needs.
