SOC 1000 - Community Engagement SOC 1000 - Community Engagement This course provides students with an enhanced understanding of the local community. Students are required to perform structured community service throughout the semester and to reflect and engage with other students on the meaning of community. Through readings, critical reflection, group discussions, and volunteer service, students will understand the impact of civic engagement on the community and its members. This course will require 1-3 hours of community service per week (or the equivalent).
