PSY 1040 - The Psychology of Addiction PSY 1040 - The Psychology of Addiction This course examines the nature of substance and behavioral addiction. It incorporates theoretical perspectives and contemporary research. Social, cultural, and familial contexts of drug use and addictive behaviors are explored. Students investigate the neurobiology of addiction. Prevention, assessment, evidence-based treatment options, and culturally relevant treatment options are examined.
