POLS 1600 - African Politics POLS 1600 - African Politics This is a survey course of the African political experience, looking at traditional institutions, the colonial experience and post-colonial political systems. We will also spend significant time looking at current political systems by focusing on specific countries’ political approaches to modern issues in Africa. Through your examination of the political process, we will study the history of African development, and learn why, in an interconnected world, we need to understand the dynamics of what is happening in Africa. Prerequisite: Placement in ENG 1010 or completion or required developmental English Elective Code(s): GLKY, LART, SSCI Previous: POL* 160
