MUS 1202 - Music Ear-Training II MUS 1202 - Music Ear-Training II This course is a continuation of MUS 1201 . Ear Training II is considered to be the aural lab component of MUS 1102 , therefore this course must be taken concurrently with MUS 1102 . This course explores more advanced materials using solfege and moveable “do” in major and minor keys and Curwen hand signs: all Intervals (ascending and descending), scales (major, minor in all 3 types, chromatic), triads (MmdA) in all inversions, and 7th chords are sung and identified. Practice singing in two and three parts in treble and bass clefs is included as well as conducting and “Sing and Play.” This course also includes singing and dictation of one-part and two-parts melodies in major and minor (all 3 types). Sight-singing in compound triple meter, keyboard harmony and simple chord progressions with few inversions are introduced (aural identification of diatonic harmonic functions).
