MUS 1000 - History and Appreciation of Western Music MUS 1000 - History and Appreciation of Western Music This course is an entry-level music class that surveys the history of classical Western music and forms a foundation for intelligent and appreciative listening through knowledge of the characteristics, media, and structure of music, major choral and instrumental works, musical styles, interpretation, and the principles of aesthetics. Students will engage in lectures, class discussion, recordings, and attendance at live performances. Prerequisite: eligibility for ENG 1010 Elective Code(s): ARTS, LART
