HIST 2045 - The World at War HIST 2045 - The World at War This course studies the aftermath of World War I and the coming of World War II. Special emphasis is given to the role of the Peace of Paris and its connection to the failure of democracy and the rise of totalitarianism during the inter-war period. This course also examines the global dimensions of World War II and the emergence of the Soviet Union and United States as superpowers. To enhance the course, students will be asked to study some of the artistic and cultural texts that reflect the issues of the time.
