CJS 2940 - Contemporary Issues in Criminal Justice CJS 2940 - Contemporary Issues in Criminal Justice This course exposes students to the contemporary issues that impact the functions, and organization of Criminal Justice agencies in the United States with an emphasis on the use of research methodology in examination of issues. Topics in the course includes issues such as: racial profiling, torture, capital punishment, gender, social stratification, social class, politics, and use of force. The focus and content of the course will change each year to reflect the changes in political and social thought and their impact on public policy. Prerequisite: CJS 1010 with a C- or higher and ENG 1010 with a C- or higher Previous: CJS* 294
