Current drug trends, including the legalization of marijuana and its effects, the opioid crisis, and the increased presence of transnational criminal organizations in the supply and trafficking of drugs into the United States will be examined. The evolving response of society and the criminal justice system including applicable law and enforcement tactics will also be explored.
