ASTR 1001 - Principles of Astronomy ASTR 1001 - Principles of Astronomy An introductory survey course in Astronomy intended for non-science/science majors. Topics include history of astronomy, the solar system, light and spectra, the formation and evolution of stars, galaxies, and the universe. Properties, interrelationships, and the scientific process are emphasized throughout the course. Students who have taken ASTR 1011 will not receive credit for this course. Prerequisite: C- or higher in MATH 0900 OR eligibility for MATH 1010 General Education Code: SCKX Previous: AST* 101
