ART 1630 - Ceramic Handbuilding ART 1630 - Ceramic Handbuilding An introduction to the basic methods of handbuilt ceramics - pinch, coil, slab, modeling - and the fundamental processes of surface decoration. Students use clay as an artistic medium and develop skills and imagery through experimentation. The class focuses on the creation of both functional and sculptural works. Historical and contemporary approaches will be emphasized.
