Survey of American Literature II (3-0) 3 Credits Selected readings in American literature from 1865 to the present. Periods of American Literature including Realism, Naturalism, Modernism, and Postmodernism will form the structure of the course and will include work by Mark Twain, Kate Chopin, John Steinbeck, Ernest Hemingway, and Arthur Miller among others. from the American Romantic tradition. The course will include multiple genres, including essays, poetry, short stories, and novels and will fulfill three hours of the nine required humanities for an Associate of Arts degree. (Prerequisite: Possess college-level reading skills.)
