Advanced Provider (AdP) to Paramedic Clinical 1 (0-3)3Credits This course is designed to facilitate AdP ’s that do not currently work within or have a minimum of 250 hours of documented work experience in the pre -hospital setting with an advanced life support (ALS) scope of practice within the last 5 years. Provided in this course is the clinical experience necessary to enter the pre -hospital environment as a paramedic. In this course the student will be exposed to the areas of healthcare and pre-hospital environment that differs from the AdP scope of practice found in the hospital setting. The student will be exposed to multiple ambulance clinical rotations with ALS providers/paramedics practicing emergency medical services in the field under pre -written medical direction/protocols. This course will also facilitate the advanced airway experience needed for intubation, needle decompressions, and needle cricothyroidotomy; through use of high -fidelity mannequins and cadaver lab experiences. National Registry EMT practice and testing will also be facilitated for those that require it prior to paramedic testing. Recommended Certifications: CFRN, CTRN, TCRN, CPEN, CEN, CCRN, EMT
