Diesel Powertrains (2-4) 4 Credits To allow the engine to give its best performance, the powertrain must be able to direct the power where it is needed. This course covers the basic powertrains as they are used in industrial applications. Components such as clutches, mechanical transmissions, hydraulic assist transmissions, differentials, final drives and other drives are studied. Adjustments such as end play, backlash and preload are examined as well as the different fluids used for lubrication and fluid drive.
