Carpentry Fundamentals (2-2) 3 Credits This course is based on the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) Level 1 Carpentry Fundamentals curriculum. It is designed to provide a broad range of information and hands-on practice to students in the fundamentals of construction. Topics studied include trade orientation, building materials, fasteners/adhesives, hand and power tools, reading plans/ elevations, introduction to concrete, reinforcing materials, floor systems, windows and exterior doors, wall/ceiling framing, roof framing, and basic stair layout. (Prerequisite: CONS 105 or Permission of Instructor)
