Telecommunications (2-2) 3 Credits This course guides students through employability skills and activities that are covered in levels of Emergency Communications. Course includes lessons and activities that closely align with the competencies outlined by the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch (NAED). The Course will cover the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency Telecommunicator, Technologies, Interpersonal Communications, Essentials, Caller management, call Classifications (Law Enforcement, Fire, and Medical), Catastrophic Events, and Radio Broadcast procedures, Legal Aspects, Quality Improvement and Stress management. A commercially available trainer will be used to give the students acquire hands -on training need for the Emergency Dispatcher.
