General Microbiology (3-4) 5 Credits This course addresses topics ranging from the biochemistry and molecular biology of viruses and bacteria to the epidemiology of human disease. General Microbiology presents a wide -ranging examination of the microbial world, with emphasis on the relationship between microorganisms and human health and disease. This course covers principles of microbiology including basic biochemistry, cell structure and metabolism, the cultivation and control of microorganisms, a survey of the microbial world, epidemiology, and host defense.
