6 hour(s) Elective Type: Technical ($) Special Funding Identifier: KS Excel in CTE Initiative Schedule Note: Fall Only Description: The Emergency Medical Technician 1 (EMT 1) and EMT 2 courses are designed to be taken consecutively to provide students with an academic and working knowledge to become Kansas certified EMTs and to provide basic life support patient care. It provides the basic concepts of emergency care, which are needed to function as an EMT. Students must successfully complete the EMT 1 and EMT 2 courses with at least a “C” grade in consecutive semesters to be eligible for state board certification. This class will be ful for other health care fields and is a Course Classification: 2 credit Lecture/4 credit Lab High school vocational students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and be at least 16 years old.
