EMS5600 — Emergency Medical Responder
6 hour(s) Elective Type: Technical Description: The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course s prepare the student for certification and practice as an EMR in Kansas. The EMR class is a basic level EMS course that covers basic life support for trauma and medical patients, CPR, and patient assessment. The student will develop simple depth and breadth in the principles and practice of EMR-level patient care. Successfully completing this course will prepare the student for Kansas and NREMT EMR certification and to function as an EMR. Many law enforcement agencies and fire departments require this training, as well as many private industrial organizations. This course is an excellent preparatory class for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class. NOTE: Students must earn a “C” or better to receive credit.
