This course begins with a brief overview of microprocessors as a precursor to microcontrollers. Next, a basic understanding of the use, terminology, and potential of microcontrollers are discussed. Programming skills and concepts taught in this course help students develop, execute, and debug programs for a microcontroller. A hands-on approach will teach the essentials skills for creating a simple sensor-driven microcontroller system, and will be reinforced with interactive projects. One hour lecture and four hours laboratory per week.
