MUSI 147A — Beginning Guitar
Units: 2 Lecture Hours: 18 Lab Hours: 54 Outside Hours: 36 Grading Method: Letter Credit Status: Credit, degree applicable Conditions of Enrollment: None This course will focus on fundamental aspects of holding, tuning, and basic performance techniques for pickstyle guitar. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of music including reading notation and basic music theory. Students will examine melodies, strumming patterns, and chord playing through the use of both traditional and contemporary popular music repertoire. Note: Only offered in spring.
