MATH 180 — Precalculus
Units: 5 Lecture Hours: 90 Lab Hours: 0 Outside Hours: 180 Grading Method: Letter Credit Status: Credit, degree applicable Conditions of Enrollment: Prerequisite: MATH 170 with a minimum grade of C or placement by multiple measures, see page 201. This course is a preparation for calculus. Topics of study include polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions as well as their inverses. Matrices and analytic geometry are introduced, as well as sequences and series. The application of these topics is stressed to enhance conceptual understanding of the material. * MATH 1 30 and MATH 180 combined: UC maximum credit, 5 semester units.
