A.A./A.S./AA-T/AS-T: Students with a score of 3 or better may use the AP exam for general education credit in the appropriate area; however, credit for a specific course to meet major requirements for the Associate Degree will need to follow the course equivalent outlined by the academic department. Cal-GETC: AP exams must be used in area indicated regardless of where the certifying CCC’s discipline is located. An acceptable AP score for Cal-GETC equates to either 3 semester or 4 quarter units for certification purposes. TRANSFER: Students may use AP exams for transfer units and major requirements; however, the student must consult with a counselor and the four-year institution’s college catalog for AP credit policies as course credit application varies by campus. *Please note that the AP Exam Charts for the CSU and UC may have changed after the publication of this Catalog; therefore refer to the most updated CSU AP Exam Chart and the UC AP Exam listing.
