SAO 1058 - Snow Weather and Avalanche Observations I SAO 1058 - Snow Weather and Avalanche Observations I 1.0 Credits Develops student skills in making and recording standard field measurements of snow, weather, and avalanches. Includes exposure to industry standard field measurement tools, techniques, processes and how to evaluate quality of data collected. Focus: field and remote observations of periodic snow, weather, and avalanche observations; recording data to industry standards; interpretation of data; safe travel in and around avalanche terrain, selection of safe and relevant observation sites.
