This course is an overview of the development of language in early childhood. Topics include sound, structure, meaning, the role of society in language development, and mixed and multiple language acquisition. Also covers hearing and sight impairment and the relationship of spoken to written language. Designed to enable students to facilitate language growth in child-care and preschool settings.
