WELD 2313 - Advanced Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) WELD 2313 - Advanced Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) 3 credit(s) An advanced course designed to prepare students to certify in horizontal (2G), vertical (3G) and overhead (4G) positions using the Shielded Metal Arc (SMAW) process. Students will be tested in the vertical groove weld (3G) and in the overhead grove weld (4G) positions using carbon steel. One hour lecture and three hours lab per week. ( ) S
