CST 2040 - Renewable Energy CST 2040 - Renewable Energy 3 credit(s) A comprehensive overview of renewable energies, including comparisons with photo voltaic (pv) electrical generation, solar thermal, wind, biomass and other alternative fuels. Emphases are placed on the movement from a fossil fuel-based economy to an alternative energy economy using solar-derived fuels. This ties to design and lifestyle alterations, which can result from careful monitoring and utilizing of energy stores available. Site-specific suitability, regulations, investments, economics and energy efficiencies are all investigated with regard to life cycle. Three hours lecture and one hour lab per week. UD
