NURS 252 — Advanced Holistic Clinical Nursing NURS 252 8 Credits/Units
Admission into the program required for enrollment. Emphasis is placed on the nurse's role as caregiver, manager and educator for a group of patients across medical-surgical and mental health settings. In the med/surg setting, the student will plan and organize care for a group of patients with emphasis on the nursing process, rehabilitation, education, and the patient care delivery system. In the mental health setting, the student will experience caring for patients in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Patient problems relate to functional impairment within acute and chronic phases of mental illness. These courses are linked; failure in one course, with a grade of 'C-' or lower or 'U', requires repeat of all concurrent courses. [GE]
