NURS 251 — Medical-Surgical Nursing Concepts III NURS 251 2 Credits/Units

Admission into the program required for enrollment. The study of common medical-surgical issues related to hormonal control, sensory perception, movement and coordination, and cancer. Emphasis is placed on the nurse's role as primary caregiver, manager and educator for a group of patients. The student will learn to plan and organize care for a group of patients with emphasis on the nursing process, rehabilitation, education, and the patient care delivery system. All topics address patients throughout the lifespan, and includes obstetric patients in a medical-surgical setting. These courses are linked; failure in one course, with a grade of 'C-' or lower or 'U', requires repeat of all concurrent courses. [GE]
