Admission into the program required for enrollment. Nursing management of medical-surgical health issues involving cardiac, respiratory, renal and gastrointestinal systems in the acute care or community setting. Planning nursing interventions to include prevention of disease and promotion of wellness. Emphasis on the biopsychosocial effects of acute and chronic illness. All topics address patients throughout the lifespan, and includes obstetric patients in a medical-surgical setting. These courses are linked; failure in one course, with a grade of 'C-' or lower or 'U', requires repeat of all concurrent courses. [GE]
