Exploring the role of women in world history from pre-historical times up to the pre-Industrial Age. Included within these parameters is the role of women in the family, economy, culture, religion and political structures of their given societies. Topics include: the development of patriarchy and misogyny; women's contributions to Eastern, Middle Eastern and Judeo/Christian religious experiences; and women's roles in Africa and South America.
