MUP 102 — Wind Ensemble

For non-majors and music majors. Introduction and study of traditional and contemporary band literature. This course is taken each term in one's first year of a two-year course of study that includes performance, study of common styles and practices of historically and culturally significant composers/arrangers, and study of historical issues related to the development and performance of band literature. Provides a thorough groundwork in the fundamental ideas, techniques, and practices of band music and ensemble performance. No audition required. May be repeated for up to 3 credits.
